How to place Astrogems to reach Ark Grid core thresholds

An Ark Grid core holds up to four Astrogems in linked slots. Willpower fills the slots in order: an Astrogem takes its default willpower minus its Willpower Efficiency, and a gem that does not fit stops its slot and every slot after it. A core's effects turn on at its Core Points thresholds, such as 10 and 14. The game's Auto-Equip Astrogems fills your cores for the highest Combat Power. The Ark Grid Astrogem placement places your Astrogems for the thresholds you choose instead, in your order of priority, and then for the most levels of one Astrogem effect.

Set the cores, the goals and the gems

Choose your class for the Order cores, then the core in each slot you use. For each core, pick the Core Points to reach or none, and move the goals up or down to set their priority. Pick the effect to maximize. Add your Astrogems: a processed gem comes straight from Astrogem Processing odds with its values, and an Astrogem item with fixed values is added from the list. The link carries the cores and goals but never your gems, so a friend who opens it sees the same goals with their own Astrogems.

Ark Grid Astrogem placement with Order Sun Core: Combination at 17 of 14 Core Points, Order Moon Core: Blood Circulation below 10 and Chaos Sun Core: Flashy Attack, for Attack Power Lv. 14 in total

A worked case

A Berserker uses Order Sun Core: Combination with 12 willpower, Order Moon Core: Blood Circulation with 9 and Chaos Sun Core: Flashy Attack with 12. The goals are Order Sun at 14 Core Points first, then Order Moon at 10, and the effect is Attack Power. The gems are the eight Astrogem items with fixed values: four Order Astrogem: Stability and four Chaos Astrogem: Corrosion.

  • Order Sun reaches 14. Four Order Astrogems give it 17 Core Points with all 12 willpower used.
  • Order Moon stays below 10. With Order Sun at 14, the Order Astrogems left cannot give Order Moon 10 Core Points, so no placement reaches both goals.
  • Chaos Sun takes the four Chaos Astrogems. It has no goal, and the gems add their Attack Power levels.
  • Attack Power reaches Lv. 14 in total. Other placements reach the same result, and the page says so rather than ranking one above another.

What the page does not compare

Auto-Equip Astrogems in the game ranks placements by Combat Power, and this page does not compute Combat Power. When both place your gems differently, it does not claim that one is better; it shows the placement that meets the goals you set.
